Atlanta-based IBEX IT Business Experts has unveiled to the public the pre-launch of their highly anticipated supplier diversity vendor management system, Certifiably Diverse. As an exhibitor at the Women's Business Enterprise National Council’s (WBENC) Annual Conference in June, IBEX introduced booth visitors to the new system with wide acclaim from both prospective buyers and suppliers alike. IBEX is an African-American, woman-owned IT solutions and delivery firm.
Originally developed for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Certifiably Diverse is a cloud-based supply chain management solution that advances and transforms supplier diversity commitments into a scalable and results-driven platform. “Thanks to the mentorship and partnership of UPMC, we have built a best-in-class system that will meet the needs of both new and mature supplier diversity programs alike,” said Tracey Grace, president and chief executive officer of IBEX.
The result of the collaboration is a user-friendly, intuitive system built specifically for supplier diversity managers to empower, optimize, and innovate supplier diversity programs of any size. The cloud-based solution not only registers and tracks diverse suppliers and spending with diverse vendors, but also makes it simple to search for suppliers by key characteristics (such as location, type of ownership, or products and services offered) and to automate such tasks as updating needed certifications.
The development of Certifiably Diverse was initiated two years ago when UPMC turned to IBEX to create a solution to register, track, analyze and communicate with diverse suppliers, not just report on spending. “At UPMC, we’re committed to growing and supporting our diverse base of suppliers, but we could not find an affordable, easy-to-use tool that would support that goal,” said Toni Silva, senior director, supplier relations, and a driving force behind UPMC’s supplier diversity program.
With the new Supplier Diversity Web Portal, Silva noted, she and her team can more effectively refer diverse suppliers to those purchasing goods and services across UPMC. “Because our supply chain managers can easily see which diverse businesses fit their needs, these companies can be included from the very beginning of the buying process. And that means they are more likely to expand their opportunities with UPMC,” said Silva.
From increasing supplier utilization and spend to measuring and fostering the economic growth of minority businesses and local communities, Certifiably Diverse aims to help organizations achieve maximum results.
